The last thing Elrond wrote for his wife to take with her before helping her board the ship that would hopefully save her life. He'd tucked the note into a locket he'd made for her, and placed it around her neck with one last loving kiss.
Every day and every night he thought of her, and that note, and knew it's truth. With every breath he took, he remembered her love and the love he bore her. Separation wouldn't dull it.
And now, now was time to join her. As the ship bringing him and his group docks, he searches the shore for silver hair in hope, prepared to find her himself if necessary. Has she been healed? Or does she remain in Lorien, as he's been warned as being possible?

The days sometimes passed in a blur, sometimes they seemed to drag on. Days that had ships arriving, she rushed to the docks in the hopes of finding her husband, there only to leave disappointed, her grandparents doing their best to console her.
Until, one day, word came to her that there would be two people arriving on the next ship of interest to her. Of course she raced there, no one was able to stop her. Even if the ships weren't in sight yet.
When crowds started forming, no one got between her and the docks. She didn't know if her grandparents had said something or if her eagerness was tangible. Either way, she wasn't upset. And when the ship was docked, finally, and everyone started to disembark, he wouldn't have to look long.
It isn't silver hair he'll spot but a silver blur, running across the wood planks, bare feet hardly making a sound, and then leaping at him with a delighted: "Elrond!"
