Do the thing.

You know you want to do the thing.

Post images or lyrics or a starter or tell me what you want and I'll write one.

Elrond only smiled before quietly excusing himself. Arafinwe nodded his appreciation and quietly approached the lovely young lady, drawing on the serenity of their surroundings to steal against the nerves of meeting family for the first time. Celeborn had proven himself able, and a good match for his daughter. Now, a granddaughter.

And she was perfect. A gentle, warm smile formed, then spread to be visible.

"My daughter told me you might be here, and the Lord of this Valley was good enough to verify it." A pause, then he bowed his head a little, strictly formal in the gesture but the light in his eyes was only warm. "I am Arafinwe."

Elrond too had proven himself able and trustworthy. He was glad to know the halfelf.

He was glad this precious child knew his name, and what he was to her. She didn't need to say it, he could see it. His daughter's tears of joy at being forgiven for staying had been wiped away, and he hoped in time she would sail home. When she was ready.

But for now he set that aside, standing before Celebrian just looking at her. "I do. And I am very pleased to meet you!" Already he was glad for his choice to stay a time. His guards had been firmly told to stay out of the way, to help but not hinder. Some of them, he knew, would go out on regular patrols while the rest kept a closer eye on him.

"May I sit with you a time?"

Warmth lit his heart, though he wished his daughter hadn't been pained by the stories. Arafinwe smiled gently at her and claimed the invited seat.

It was almost a dream, sitting with a granddaughter he hadn't known existed until recently. "Why would I not wish to visit with you? Your mother knows I will go to here before I must return home, and we have had some time already to grow reacquainted."

He didn't want to squander this chance.

Well he wasn't about to push her away! He wrapped an arm around her, holding her gently. It was only a matter of time before he'd go to Lothlorien, see the work his daughter had been doing. For now...

"For the moment I am where I should be. With someone already dear to my heart in a place she belongs. I hope I am graced with the chance to know her."

Thankfully he'd learned Sindarin enough to be conversant, though his accent is noticeable. And he wasn't about to pull away now, not for a while.

"I confess I have few, other than to want to hear all you would tell me. About your life, about your interests. Everything."

Arafinwe had hope that he would have his daughter and granddaughter home in time. But until then, he would enjoy this time with them.

"Would you play for me? And I would like to see your paintings." Later. He was in no hurry to stand.

"We have time," he responded easily, resting his cheek lightly on the top of her head. "You are much as your mother was." Sweet, spirited, but with a warm heart. He loved her already.

"When I have time?" He rejoined with a smile. "I love to ride, or walk through the gardens. Your grandmother and I do either when we can." Earwen would love this precious child, he knew.

Arafinwe chuckled, having a good idea what caused that laugh. He could certainly see a wild young Celebrian running around barefoot!

"I would love to."
