He knew she knew, and that she let him pretend to surprise her. Elrond chuckled softly at her squeal and kissed her right back, holding her safely and close. He didn't set her back down though, not until he'd taken a seat and then it was in his lap that she was placed.

Her fingers threading through his hair lightened his heart and he leaned their foreheads together, revelling in being able to hold her again. The library was indeed mighty and full of fascinating tomes, but she was the other half of his soul.
